Rare Breed Triggers Starts PR Push
- EXCLUSIVE: Inside the FRT Settlement with Rare Breed
- Rare Breed Triggers seems to have started a bit of a PR push after their court victory.
- The interview is interesting
- I do have to give a lot of credit to them for fighting this legal battle. I can’t imagine that it was easy, inexpensive, nor something that was straight forward and having to deal with the government’s dirty tricks and lies.
- My main disappointment was that they could have pushed further and created a biding precedent
- Followed by the mandated part of their settlement where they have to defend their patent
- Prior art could invalidate the patents, and every action that they take to defend their patent risks this and what happens to the settlement agreement then? How would an invalidation of Rare Breed’s patent affect the settlement agreement?
- Handguns vs. pistols FRT’s
- Strange and feels like word play
- Little bit of a cop out, saying that they are “unsafe” when machine pistols have been around for a very long time
- Public sentiment seems to be mixed at best.
- We will have to see how well things go for them in the future.
- However, taking some forward action and openly talking about the case may soften some opinions of them
- I’m not necessarily convinced that this was a move solely to enrich rare breed, and I’m open to the possibility that bro was just tired of fighting it out, but it kind of looks that way if we are being honest.
- So I’m mixed, on the one hand, Rare Breed definitely fought the good fight in court, but on the other hand I can’t help but feel they were fighting a hydra and stopped before cutting of the last few heads.
A very strange statement from the SIG Armorer

- What’s strange is a lot of his talking points are the same as what is being talked about in the SIG and MAC video
- Light bearing holsters etc.
- I want to be fair, his business is DEPENDANT on SIG so in some ways he does need to step up and defend them in some ways. If SIG crashes and burns then his current business crashes and burns.
- I can believe that his testing showed the results that he got, the UD issue is all things considered, unusual and seems to require a specific combination of parts.
- The problem is that he’s focused on the first drop safe issue and the “holster issues” not what the current claims are.
- I can’t prove anything, but I’d be willing to bet SIG put some kind of pressure on him. If that is really the case then same on SIG. I can’t be overly harsh on someone just trying to keep their business alive, and while it would be fair to put some blame on the SIG Armorer for folding to SIG, I’m far more upset with the possibility that SIG is doing some underhanded tactics to silence someone who, as far as I know right now, is an ok dude and wanted to do something to address the issues.
LFD Research keeps going
- LFD Research is still working through more model years and they said they will be releasing a video that follows up on their previous work
- They hint that the 2024 model that they have might be better, or fixed?
- We’ll have to see.
Justice Department might combine ATF and DEA as part of broad restructuring | AP News
- Does anyone remember how shitty the war on drugs was and has been?
- This could very easily result in a super charged ATF with even more ability to ruin lives
- I do not want to see the ATF become a more powerful force, they need more oversight and accountability not less.
- SureFire is getting sued by B&T for their quick detach suppressors.
- B&T alleges that despite a mutual understanding previously reached SureFire breached the agreement and private negotiations have broken down forcing B&T to file suit.

- The bill tries to make it illegal to sell or even distribute instructions for manufacturing “ghost guns”
- This is an infringement on second amendment rights as well as first amendment rights
- Transmitting information, writing, drawing, and design work is all protected under the first amendment, it’s a freedom of speech issue and a second amendment issue.
- Digital files, or written documents can’t and never have hurt anyone
- So an employee sent inappropriate pictures to someone Lucas was close with? Wife?
- “Not handled well initially”?
- That’s about all we got
- Very odd, but interested to see what Lucas does in the future and interested in what T-Rex arms does moving forward.
- Speculation
- Maybe Lucas was upset over the initial handling of the situation and resigned due to lack of influence in company policy.
- Maybe he was blocked from the action he wanted to take.
- Maybe Lucas has wanted to be more vocal in his pro-Christian activism, in ways that was making other owners uncomfortable with the direction of the messaging?
- I’m sure more will eventually come out, it looks like Lucas has been hinting at that on his Instagram, but I’d warn against rumor mill stuff, we’d need one of the Botkin brothers or a confirmed employee of T-Rex arms to shed more light on the topic.
